ABOUT THE MUSICIANS
Together, Marcel Lazăr and Dan-Iulian Drutac are not only performers, but also passionate supporters of the cultural heritage of their homeland. Their collaboration was the driving force behind the Moldo Crescendo festival, a chamber music initiative that successfully brought classical music to a diverse audience in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
Dan-Iulian Drutac, Violin
Dan started his musical journey at the age of 7. A prodigy from an early age, he received a full scholarship to study in London at the age of 16, where he continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Dan-Iulian made his London debut at the Royal Festival Hall in 2015, performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a performance that was met with great acclaim. His studies have since taken him to the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid, where he continues to hone his craft under the tutelage of Zakhar Bron. A founding member of the Fitzroy Quartet, Dan-Iulian has toured extensively in the UK and beyond, cementing his reputation as a versatile and accomplished violinist.
